Medal accompanied by photocopied extract from Medal Roll confirming medal and clasp, Medal Index Card details, confirming that Private Walker entered the France & Flanders theatre of operations on 13th August 1914, and Commonwealth War Graves details confirming that he was killed on 8th November 1914. He would presumably be a First Battle of Ypres (5th – 21st November 1914) casualty. Private Walker has no known grave, and is commemorated on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial, panels 8 and 12.
