Private Thomas Freeman died on 20th September 1917, and would be a first day of the battle of Menin Road Ridge (20th – 24th September 1917) casualty. He was 29 years of age at the time of his death, the son of Stephen and Sarah E. Freeman of 28 Exchange Street, Hull. He has no known grave, and is commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial.
