Medal accompanied by copy Medal Index Card, which confirms service during WW1 from 8th September 1914, initially as 7813 Corporal in the 1st Battalion West Yorkshire Regiment, and subsequently as 8730 Sergeant, Machine Gun Corps (the 1st West Yorkshires set sail for France on the morning of 8th September 1914, reached St Nazaire the following day, and disembarked on 10th September). Card gives first Christian name as Alfred. Also entitled 1914 Star trio.
