Alexander McKinney was born in Glasgow and enlisted into the 3rd European Regiment at Glasgow on 12/5/1853 for a term of 10 years. At the time of enlistment he gave his trade as iron moulder. He embarked for India aboard the Vernon, arriving in India in 1853.
