With copy medal roll extracts, confirming Private George Barrett’s entitlement to medal and clasp. There is a manuscript note against Barrett’s name on one of the medal rolls, “WO 17/12/56”. This sometimes indicates that the recipient was a casualty. The medal perhaps worthy of further research in this regard.
