Medal accompanied by 1851 British Army Worldwide Index details and extract published medal roll, confirming medal with Moodkee obverse and 2 clasps (surname spelt Fadding on roll but regimental number 1917 corresponds with that given in 1851 Worldwide Index, where his surname is spelt Fadden).

Michael Fadden is recorded in the 1851 British Army Worldwide Index as 1917 Corporal serving with the 9th Foot in Dublin.

The 1851 Worldwide Index, however, transcribes Fadden’s regiment incorrectly as the 9th “East Suffolk” Regiment (the East Suffolk Regiment was the 12th Foot). Obviously a transcription error by Find My Past.
